To bridge the gap, Parnall Law Firm is proud to offer the 2022 Distracted Driving Scholarship Program designed to help high school students attend institutions of higher learning while also bringing attention to the dangers of distracted driving.
To qualify, students need to create a Distracted Driving Family Plan within which they address the safety of their families by proactively committing to a plan that prevents the occurrence(s) of distracted driving incidences by them or members of their families. Their essays should explain what distracted driving is, describe personal experiences involving distracted driving, and suggest ways to encourage family members to avoid distracted driving.
As they write their essays, students should also explain their beliefs about smartphone technology and its effects on teen drivers. To support their statements/thoughts/points, they should include examples of studies, surveys, stories, or statistics. There’s $2,500 for the first-place prize, $1,500 for the second-place prize, and $1,000 for the third-place prize.
To participate in the Distracted Driving Scholarship Program, an applicant must be a high school student in New Mexico and a US resident. All entries must be submitted to HurtCallBert.com via the provided form, between March 1st, 2022 and June 1st, 2022. The entries will be judged by the offices of Parnall Law Firm on originality and caliber of response. Once reviewed, the awards will be made directly to the scholarship programs of the winning students in mid-summer of 2022.
