The treatment includes both the dental implant, a small titanium screw, and the crown, a ceramic cap that simulates the appearance of a natural tooth. Patients across Auckland can now book a consultation to determine whether they are a good fit.
Natural Smile Dental explains that not everyone is a suitable candidate for dental implants. For example, people whose gums are not healthy and strong, may not be able to get implants. The healing period normally lasts up to six months, and a healing cap is placed over the implant for a few weeks.
The final step is replacing the healing cap with a ceramic or porcelain crown. Natural Smile Dental uses the latest CEREC technology to take pictures and build precise 3D images. Based on the 3D imaging, the CEREC software mills and cuts the new crown. The result is a permanent and functional tooth that matches the colour of the patient’s natural teeth.
