It can be difficult for a dog owner to identify pain in their pet, as there is often no outward indication. The new course teaches practitioners to undertake an assessment so that they can recognize and locate the site of pain and tension in their pets.
The website has reported that around 70% of dogs suffer from chronic back or myofascial pain. According to research published by The National Center for Biotechnology Information, common causes of canine spine-related disorders include trauma and injury, types of arthritis such as spondylitis, and Intervertebral Disc Disease (IDD).
The course teaches a study of the role of the spine in healthy movement and the anatomy of the connective tissue fascia, together with WEBB techniques including the Therapeutic Pulse technique, Gentle Deep Pressure technique and the Craniosacral Energy Connection technique to calm and relax the dog. Manual therapy and myofascial release techniques focus on the cranial, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of the spine to release tension and restore healthy function.
The practitioner programme is approved by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists and is taught directly by WEBB method founder and veterinarian, Dr. Edward Bassingthwaighte BVSc.
A choice of bronze, gold and platinum course packages are available which include lifetime access to training materials, professionally recorded teaching videos, a 50,000-word e-book manual, membership to the private WEBB Facebook group, practice sessions, live stream training recordings and one-to-one mentoring and monthly webinar access for premium packages.
With the new service expansion, the website continues to provide WEBB method treatment for dogs, cats, horses and people together with webinars and training for WEBB practitioners. Further details of the course can be found at https://www.wholeenergybodybalance.com/webb-for-pets
